Our Goals

Our Goals

The mission of the church here at East End is to follow Jesus Christ in all that He teaches.  Three great statements of Jesus drive the decisions that we make.

1. HIS COMMAND TO LOVE: Everything we do centers around Jesus’ command for us to love God with our all and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

“And he answered, ” YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL  YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.” Luke 10:27

2. HIS COMMISSION TO REACH OUT: Our work is a continuation of the work Jesus performed while on earth.  He came to seek and to save the lost, and we are also seeking those searching for the Savior, so that He can wash away their sins and prepare them for heaven.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

3. HIS CHARGE TO WORSHIP: Worshipping God in spirit and in truth is not optional. We seek to please God by offering the worship the Bible teaches is good and acceptable to the Father.

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

It is our goal to imitate the Bible’s pattern for the church by basing all our activities on Biblical instructions.  We study the whole Bible in our classes and constantly use it in our preaching.  However, we recognize and follow the New Testament as the covenant through which Christ directs His people today.

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son…” Hebrews 1:1-2

By trusting in the Bible as our only guide, we are bound together like a spiritual family in love, unity, and consensus.  We work and worship together as a completely non-denominational congregation of God’s people endeavoring to be part of the church that Jesus promised to build.

“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”  Matthew 16:18
