Commitment to Authority

God’s grace allows us to choose.

We must make a clear decision as to whether or not we will be people of the Lord. If we are, then we need to show a true dedication to understanding and living out God’s authority as found in His revealed will.

If not, then it really doesn’t matter at that point, because the only standard we can use is merely human anyway. We would just be our own authorities, so whatever we want goes and we’ll expect God to rubber stamp our desires.

But such a decision is a tacit admission that we really don’t care what God thinks. Or, if we do care what God thinks, we only care that He thinks our thoughts after us rather than our thinking His thoughts after Him. A repudiation, abandonment, or lack of care for God’s authority is nothing short of idolatry.
